Sonntagsfahrer II - July 11th
Wir haben tatsaechlich Glueck gehabt mit dem Computer, denn in ganz Red Lodge gibt es zwar sehr viele Zimmer und Motels, aber keines mit Computer. Wir sind dann in eines gegangen, wo die Besitzerin sehr nett war und haben uns damit abgefunden, morgen vielleicht in einer Buecherei oder einem Coffeeshop einen Internetcomputer aufzutreiben. Wir muessen jedoch sehr sympathisch gewesen sein, denn ohne unser Wissen hat sie sofort ihren Mann informiert, und an dessem Laptop sitzen wir jetzt. Er ist zwar nicht besonders schnell, aber alles funktioniert.
In Miles City we tried to meet some people, but we had bad luck. So we wrote a letter for the owner of the Miles City Books and News shop and attached an orange ZENRIDE-logo for his front door. Perhaps he will attach it there (we sure hope so).
It was not very easy to find the old highways going west. But after some wrong turns we did it at least, and it was great fun always riding up and down the hills and we enjoyed very much each curve. After half the way to Billings there was none of the old highways found by us, so we had to take the Interstate to Billings. Now we are staying in the tyrolean "Yodeler Motel" in Red Lodge, which we can recommend everybody for their warm and kind service. And, not at least, we enjoy the comfortable 80*F here after having over 100*F on the Interstate.
Wir beide freuen uns schon sehr auf den morgigen Ritt ueber den Beartooth Pass (die Grossglockner-Hochalpenstrasse der Rocky Mountains). In Red Lodge (entspricht somit dem Zell am See) gibt es viele Motels und Touristen, natuerlich auch viele Biker. Das Wetter soll gut bleiben und auch auf der Passhoehe nicht unter 50*F haben. Wie wir im Gaestebuch lesen, haben die Ingolstaedter diese Temperaturen nicht einmal unten an der Donau (aber dann faellt den Steuerberaterpruefungskandidaten das Lernen nicht so schwer). Selbst am Gardasee (tanti saluti a TUTTI in Campagnola) soll das Wetter nicht besonders gut sein. Ja, wenn Engel reisen, dann lacht der Himmel, aber Franz und Gregor koennen halt nicht ueberall sein :-)
